L'ASTEE est une association qui rassemble des experts, chercheurs, scientifiques et  praticiens issus d'organismes publics et privés intervenant dans les  services publics locaux de l'environnement dans le but d'élaborer ensemble doctrines partagées et recommandations, notamment par :
 

• la production d’informations scientifiques et techniques de référence,
• l’organisation de manifestations sur les sujets relevant de son champ de compétences.

Ses champs de compétences sont :
 

• Assainissement : eaux usées et eaux pluviales (collecte et épuration, réseaux, matériaux) ;
• Déchets et propreté : collecte et traitements des déchets ménagers ;
• Eau potable : prélèvements, traitements, réseaux, matériaux ;
• Ressources en eau et milieux aquatiques, côtiers et continentaux ;
• Corrosion et protection des réseaux.

Depuis plusieurs années déjà, l’ASTEE souhaite encourager la présence et la participation de jeunes chercheurs à ses travaux.
C’est pourquoi, consciente de leurs préoccupations et soucieuse d’être au fait des avancées scientifiques que leurs thèses permettent, elle a créé un prix doté de 5 000 €, afin de récompenser les travaux d’un jeune chercheur dans un domaine relevant de son champ de compétences.

The ASTEE is an association bringing together experts, researchers, scientists and practitioners from public and private organizations involved in local environmental public services in order to develop together shared doctrines and recommendations, in particular by:

• Corrosion and protection of networks.

For several years already, the ASTEE wishes to encourage the presence and participation of young researchers in its work.
Therefore, conscious of their concerns and eager to be aware of the scientific advances that their theses allow, she has created an Award endowed with 5 000 €, in order to reward the work of a young researcher in a field falling under its field of competence.
