After a highly successful inaugural session in June 2016, the LabEx SERENADE is co- organizing the second edition of the SaferNanoDesign summer school www.safernanodesign.eu : 13-19 June 2017 at the European Scientific Institute in Archamps Technopole (France), 15 minutes from Geneva.

The school will address the issue: How can industrial innovation in nanotechnologies be reconciled with the legitimate concerns of citizens regarding environmental protection and public health?

An intensive one-week specialist school, SaferNanoDesign familiarizes early-career researchers and postgraduate students with risk evaluation in a business context, using computational methods of modelling and simulation relevant to nanomaterials. Participants are exposed to and gain hands-on experience of the analytical tools and methodologies required to meet the challenge of the ecodesign of nanomaterial enabled technology.

SaferNanoDesign will familiarize early-stage researchers and postgraduate students (2nd year Master/PhD) with risk evaluation in a business context, using computational methods of modelling and simulation relevant to nanomaterials.

Courses will be delivered by international experts from France, Scotland, the US, the Netherlands and Switzerland and representatives from industry and regulatory bodies.
The working language of the school is English.

Please circulate this information widely and help us to make a success of this exciting new school.
