18 months Post-doctoral associate position on nanomaterial database at the LabEx SERENADE at Aix Marseille University (France, Aix en Provence).

The LabEx SERENADE (Laboratory of Excellence) proposes an integrated scientific and educational approach to develop new concepts and tools for the Safer Design in nano-manufacturing processes and products.

The LabEx SERENADE is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to work on a nanomaterials database in the context of environmental engineering/environmental science. Such a database has been implemented in collaboration with researchers from CEINT (Center for the Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology) at Duke University  and the CEINT/NIKC project. The objectives of the Serenade database are (i) to develop an integrated database and the associated visualization tools that (ii) will allow the chemists, physico-chemists and biologists of the consortium to analyze their own data and integrate them into other datasets.

Using the database, the candidate will have to investigate the role of multiple parameters (e.g. scenario of exposure, duration, NMs properties, etc.) in predicting behavior and fate of nanomaterials/nanoproducts in different systems as well as the potential risks for the environment and human health. The robustness of the database will also be tested.

During this post-doctoral appointment, the candidate will collaborate with the CEINT group and other European database projects (NanoFase, NanoReg2, …). This position offers the opportunity for international collaboration and global visibility within the nanoscience field.

The candidate is ideally a broadly trained scientist with a major in physical-chemistry and/or biology and experience interdisciplinary research. Additional experience in modeling or analysis of larger datasets from nanomaterial, chemical and/or environmental study is especially welcome.

Please send before 28th February 2018 CV, statement of research interests and the names and addresses of three references to:  Jérôme Rose, rose@cerege.fr or Camille de Garidel, cgaridel@cerege.fr
