The historic city of Barcelona has been welcoming visitors for hundreds of years and next year it will welcome the Goldschmidt2019 conference to the Barcelona International Convention Centre. We warmly invite you to come and to actively participate in the conference.

The Goldschmidt Conference has become the most important forum for the discussion of recent results in geochemistry and related fields, and we hope to build further on that tradition with another high quality science program.

Call for session suggestions
Deadline: November 1, 2018

The scientific committee and theme leaders have now identified 14 broad themes, and the entire geochemistry community is invited to submit suggestions for sessions. The theme descriptions have been prepared thoughtfully with the goal of minimizing inter-theme redundancy. Please read them carefully.

In proposing a session, please select the appropriate theme and help us by defining a timely topic with a broad reach. The target should be at least 25-30 abstract submissions for each session, ideally more.

The approval of all proposed organizers should be confirmed before your proposal is submitted. Sessions can only be submitted through the Goldschmidt2019 website.

The call for sessions will close on November 1, 2018; this is your chance to ensure that your favorite subject will be covered during the conference. Details of how to submit a session proposal can be found on the call for sessions page.

We encourage you to submit well in advance of the deadline, giving the science committee ample time to review and process the submissions prior to the call for abstracts.

If you have any questions about the suitability or overlap of your proposed session with existing sessions, please contact the appropriate theme leaders (whose details are available on the conference website in their theme).

Call for workshops
Deadline: November 1, 2018

Goldschmidt2019 in Barcelona will carry on the tradition of running high quality teaching workshops and seminars on the weekend before the conference. Every year, the Goldschmidt Conference draws in thousands of delegates from geochemistry and related subjects: the perfect audience for a workshop that teaches the skills, or discusses the topics, of our community.

Is there a workshop or Town Hall meeting that you want to lead? If so, please submit your proposal for review before November 1, 2018. Please note that workshops will run on the Friday-Sunday before the conference (August 16-18, 2019).

The conference office can collect bookings and payments, advertise your workshop and make all the logistical arrangements for running it. Workshops can run for half days, a full day or over two days, as you prefer.

For more details of how we are able to help and for a link to the submission form please go to the call for workshop page on the website.
