Doctor in Microbiology from Aix-Marseille Université (Marseille, France). I worked on the physiology of sulfate-reducing prokaryotes and their role on hydrocarbon degradation and oxidation-reduction of metallic elements (anaerobic corrosion and hydrocarbon degradation in hyperthermophilic and mesophilic conditions). During my phD I was also, a research and teaching associate of the university with concentration in physiology, genomic and microbiology of microorganisms. After, graduation, i worked as a research engineer on a project that consisted of developping standards to determine and measure cell aging (Aix-Marseille Université, SATT-Sud-est, Faculté de pharmarcie, CINAM, MIO, Marseille, France). I continued with a first post-doctorate in the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA, LEMiRE, Cadarache, France) working on metal recovery and electricity production by microbial fuel cells (e.g. anaerobic, high temperature, scale-up, microbial diversity) for 2 years. I’m, currently, doing a second 16 month post-doctorate dealing with the lifecycle of nanoparticles and their impact on wastewater treatment and biosolids valorization (labex SERENADE, LEMiRE, CEREGE, Aix-Marseille Université, France). My scientific background has, thus, focused on studying the impact of pollutants (hydrocarbons, metallic elements, nanoparticles) on the environment from microorganisms to plants, soil, and humans.
